The Black Caucus’ “New Class”: Worthless, Warmongering Servants of Empire

“The Democrats have perverted the electoral franchise of the nation’s most progressive constituency to the service of a global war machine and an all-pervasive national security state.”

Hundreds of times this week, as at every yearly commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, local preachers and politicians will cite the swelling ranks of the Congressional Black Caucus as proof that Dr. King’s “dream” has borne great fruit. Black representation in the U.S. House has grown from just nine members in 1968, when King was assassinated, to the current lineup of 44 full-voting House Democrats. But the majority of today’s Black denizens of Capitol Hill are in league with the very “triple evils” that King identified and struggled against: racism, extreme materialism (capitalism) and militarism. Under the leadership of the Democratic Party, they have perverted the electoral franchise of the nation’s most progressive constituency to the service of a global war machine and an all-pervasive national security state — the antithesis of Dr. King’s vision.

According to the first motto of Congressional Black Caucus, as formulated by Detroit Rep. Charles Diggs , “Black people have no permanent friends, no permanent enemies, just permanent interests.” The slogan was coined to signal the fledgling Black Caucus’s intention to pursue an independent Black politics in the wake of the dismantling of official apartheid. Instead, in the absence of a mass, grassroots movement, the emergent Black political class embedded itself in the corporate structures of the Democratic Party. Dr. King’s “dream” has been flipped, renovated, gentrified, and weaponized.

The Black Caucus Class of 2017 is wholly aligned with the War Party.”

Since 2011, when a majority of Black lawmakers voted to continue the First Black President’s unprovoked bombing campaign against Libya, the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has become a “permanent friend” of the worst enemies of mankind, culminating in a majority CBC vote for the bipartisan $700 billion Trump-Schumer-Pelosi war budget, last July. Most damning and ominous, was the behavior of the newest members of the Black Caucus, all five of whom supported the biggest military expenditure in the history of humanity. They are:

Al Lawson (FL)

A. Donald McEachin (VA)

Dwight Evans (PA)

Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE)

Anthony Brown (MD)

Fifty years after Dr. King’s death, the Black Caucus Class of 2017 is wholly aligned with the War Party, a hydra-headed beast whose enabling budget was authored by Donald Trump and endorsed by Democratic leaders in the House and Senate.

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has become a ‘permanent friend’ of the worst enemies of mankind.”

The rookie Black House members have also embraced the darkest forces of the national security state. Last week, the five novice warmongers joined with seven more senior CBC members in support of a bill to extend the National Security Agency’s powers to spy on Americans without a warrant . Most Democrats, including CBC members, voted “no,” but the 12 Black lawmakers followed House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi’s lead in siding with Republicans to pass the measure. In addition to the five members of the Class of 2017, the other Black Pawns of the Spy Machine are:

Sanford Bishop (GA)

Andre Carson (IN)

James Clyburn (SC)

Gregory Meeks (NY)

David Scott (GA)

Terri Sewell (AL)

Marc Veasey (TX)

Representatives Bishop, Meeks, Scott, Sewell and Veasey consistently earn the lowest scores on Black Agenda Report’s CBC Report Cards. The addition of the five new warmongers and spy-lovers effectively doubles the slime at the bottom of the Black Caucus barrel.

Back in 2003, only four members of the Congressional Black Caucus supported George Bush’s request for War Powers to invade Iraq: William Jefferson (LA), Harold Ford, Jr. (TN), Albert Wynn (MD) and Sanford Bishop (GA). They were a tiny faction, exercising little influence over the larger Caucus — which is why I called them “The Four Eunuchs of War ” in my writings in The Black Commentator . Fifteen years later, it is the anti-war faction of the Black Caucus that is tiny and ineffectual. The descent into Russiagate madness has reduced the handful of dependable Black Caucus anti-war votes by two, with the defection of Maxine Waters (CA) and Bobby Scott (VA). Soon, the pro-peace members won’t be numerous enough to rate the term “faction.”

The Democratic Party is a corporate machine that is busily producing a Black misleadership class to serve the Lords of Capital and their global empire. The CBC Class of 2017 is a poison in the Black body politic.

Perhaps only toward the end of Glenn Ford’s life ,like Malcolm X ,Martin Luther King ,Junior and Harold Cruse will he wake up too late as to who the manipulators are.

Glen Ford and every Black Marxist are themselves subverted from Black Consciousness and self determination .

Marxism is the obverse of the anti-humanitarian coin .
Only very very few Black people will ever get this.

For Black liberation the words of one the greatest ,Steve Biko, ring true: “Black man ,you are on your own”

Brilliant analysis of sell-out/subverted liberal BLacks, of which Glen Ford himself has fallen into the same trap.

I wonder if every Black Marxist knows and understands that Marx never worked a day in his life -benefitted from slavery and had never denounced enslavement of Africans .

Exactly what has Marxism ,communism and liberalism got to do with Black emancipation?

  2. i dont know much about marxism, but glen ford has taught me a lot. i shudder to think how ignorant i would be, like much of the rest of black america, without ford and bar.

Oh,no ,monad I would never cast aspersions on Glen Ford’s towering intellectual contribution . I am only just introduced to BAR recently .
My point was Glen Ford is 100% right about Neo Blacks shameful backing of American imperialist war -mongering. This is obviously by no mean by accident and is political and social engineering at its worst.
However, any one of us are subverted from Black nationalism by imbibing Marxism and /or liberalism cannot see the gestalt of Black emancipation when both ideologies are finetuned by the agents who have always played both sides .

Just from the corner of one’s eye -an observation of the solidarity of American African with their brethren in Africa has been replaced by a shame of African roots ,xenophobia and a misplaced superiority complex through the conferring of Christianity and respectability politics. Only very few African Americans have been outspoken against the plight of Palestinians where there should be a natural collaboration and solidarity.

Very shameful, but worthy of the study – process of turning Black Americans into war supporters when in the 60 ‘s they never were.

I wish I had the biting critical insightfulness of Cruse to articulate the danger of Marxism for Black people,i ntellectual or not.

Nomad!not monad, perhaps this is not a big point and does not offer any more critique since Glen Ford has rightfully called out this new phenomenon amongst Black politicians and intellectuals (buffalo soldiers to make way for railtracks on Native land does not count here).

It is the public way we,that is Black people of different persuasions criticise each other.
I love him very much still, but Malcolm X ‘s take down of the Honorable Prophet Elijah always made me feel uneasy .
It was the orchestrated attack of Du Bois on Garvey.
The Henry Gates Junior sellout out of Dr Tony Martin .
Latest is the public critique of Cornel West on Coates. .
In the case of Gates and Du Bois ,one can easily detect who the paying puppeteers were, not so much with West and Ford.

In the one hand ,I get the necessity of challenging the the arse creeper survivalists, on the other hand,if we are in this together, private and earnest dialogue

It feels to me like I am watching the final fragmentation before the ashes of Black emancipation. (World wide).

Perhaps I am too old cynical, but I would interested in who the WHITE ‘benefactors’ playing this behind the scenes .

    1. Katherine! This is great! I cant comment at Abagonds but if you read this I want you to know I like what you said there about 911. I never noticed that post while I was there. And you are absolutely right.

this blog post was written in 2006, five years after the tragedy, when many people were already realizing the truth about that fateful day and in eleven years you have not changed your position . How so?

      https://abagond.wordpress.com/2006/09/13/911/comment-page-1/#comment-389561
Thank you! Just further proof that Abagond is a disinfo blog for black people. Katherine! Katherine! Katherine!

      1. Katherine Johnson · ·

Nomad, you are right. Abagond definitely is an operation for disinformation for for Black people (putting all the blame on global oppression on whites shoulders) I am telling you now it is a very sinister and evil blog, and the people behind the scenes are the enemies of African Americans.

I think it was very silly to provide my details as my cell phone went crazy after being on that site.
I am putting out fires back home,so can’t go into more detail at the moment.
To put you out of your misery,I am indeed taotesan. Please give me a bit of leeway to flesh out a reply motivating my raison d tre for using a different handle. Initially pedestrian then took it took a turn .
I should have informed you on my third comment to you . (Your site has become indispensable as the net is being scoured of proper content ) .
Have you noticed that he has still not answered any of questions about 9-11? Very telling who they are (abagond is definitely not a one man show).
:remember Amy Goodman and Noam Chomsky response to 9-11. Remember his response with his white henchman response to the major architects of slavery ?

Perhaps being on the outside I am able to see a little clearer that African Americans who are ‘corralled’in a laager by their oppressors ,where the blindspots influenced by Christianity, the fomenting of Islamophobia, modern propaganda, undetected repression and censorship might not be readily revealed, without asking deep questions of who the oppressor.
That to me is the only question that truly matters. Who is the oppressor. Abagond is the oppressor . He is not a friend- the blog smacks of Cointelpro, the Jewish infiltration of the NAACP and the African National Congress.

So yes it me ,and it started in a pedestrian fashion (changing phones) Should have told you in the beginning who I was, when I changed all my details.

        Please reply to me .
I will write a comment on your blog later.

Keep up with the writing . I am one of those people that is very interested in your writing because i think Truth and Integrity is in short supply, even if we might be off, here and there , on the whole picture .

*Chuckling that he would respond to mirkwood , the racist, complaints of my writing style and still not answer important questions . After all of that -he bowed and collaborated with him -telling, ain’t it .

      2. As I said, you are cool with me whatever name you choose to use. Glad you are here.

    2. Katherine Johnson

Another thing, shouldn’t you and millions right thinking citizens, regardless of persuasion, should be so outraged that your ‘best friend in the Middle East’ should get away with terrorism against you, while America offers it unconditional military support and monetary support in the annual billions while many go hungry, are jobless and have no resources to eking out a decent life , except to becoming debt slaves?

Are you not suffiently appalled that the world’s leading terrorist state with all its genocidal terrorists, elevated to President: Begin , Rabin, Sharon, Barak, Netanyanhu are recipients of your tax-dollars?

Are you not the least suspicious or wary that the mainstream media has blanked out the the real terrorists and calls any-one who dares challenge the official narrative a conspiracy theorist?

Perhaps you have better things to do, like write about mermaids and Black music -mollification of the darkies, eh? and trangenderism and memes generated by Irish descended Americans, than to answer a few stupid questions on the biggest false flag ever pulled off by Israel ?

      Oh, mercy!
      LOL!!!

Glad you like my term Neo-Black. I grafted that on to Fords critique.

Very shameful, but worthy of the study – process of turning Black Americans into war supporters when in the 60 ‘s they never were.

This is a recent development in black identity politics which Ford has brilliantly revealed and which i call the NeoBlack phenomenon.

I wish I had the biting critical insightfulness of Cruse to articulate the danger of Marxism for Black people,i ntellectual or not.

I do too. Whatever danger it poses it is not as great as the American brand of capitalism, aka white supremacy.

It is the public way we,that is Black people of different persuasions criticise each other.

That really doesnt bother me. I have never understood why black criticism of other blacks should remain private. Perhaps in the Jim Crow era when we needed to protect our leaders. But not now, in the NeoBlack era where our leaders are betraying us wholesale.

In the one hand ,I get the necessity of challenging the the arse creeper survivalists, on the other hand,if we are in this together, private and earnest dialogue

We are not in this together. There is a hidden fifth column among us working against us, most of them in leadership positions. And they must be vigorously criticized. Publicly.

As I have said elsewhere, the Talented Tenth strategy has failed. Instead of a Talented Tenth getting educated, holding positions of power and thru this power lifting up the black masses, the Talented Tenth has risen up and has instead sought to further exploit their supposed kindred. They must be severely and publicly criticized for this. That is what Ford is doing. That is what West is doing. I say condemn them loudly.
